Alie

Portraiture oil painting on quality raw unstretched canvas with the dimensions of 75 x 100 cm. Alie is from the My Grandparents series painted in 2021. Alie was the Grandmother on the artist's Father's side. Alie was born in 1919 and this depiction was made from a black and white reference photograph taken about that time. Background colours are magenta and burnt umber which is unusually but well teamed with burnt sienna. This work has slight impasto qualities.  Lovely work.
