Ella, Alie and Daisy.

This work is 103 x 85 centrimetres in dimension with a six centrimetre (plus more) white painted border around the painting to allow for stretchimg. From the My Grandparents series this work is titled Ella, Alie and Daisy. Ella was the artists Great Aunty, Alie her Grandmother and Daisy her Great Grandmother who she was familiar with and used to visit her, on weekends as a child. They all had visits.  this work was made with a black and white reference photograph which was taken ealy 1920's.  The background is cream and yellow. Ella and Daisy is wearing apricot and Alie in the middle is wearing white with a pink bow in her hair.  This painting is quite impasto and is a one of and will not be painted again.
